Mike Jackson is an Emmy-nominated editor, and has cut documentaries for CBS, The History Channel, Knowledge, Vision, and APTN. He also cuts dramatic films, including the zombie feature Dead Rising: Watchtower for Legendary Pictures, and the pilot for MTX! for Disney XD, both directed by Zach Lipovsky.
Mike was nominated for an Emmy for his work on the CBS / History Channel documentary Beyond Top Secret, directed by Peter Klein. He has worked on a number of projects with him and the International Reporting Program at the UBC School of Journalism, most recently the multimedia project Cut, which won Best Video/Multimedia Feature from the Canadian Online Publishing Awards.
Mike is a frequent collaborator with director John Albanis, and has cut many of his projects, including his sci-fi short No-va, his Bravo dance videos Distemper and Methuselah, and his music videos for Nostalghia and the Wilderness of Manitoba.
Other notable projects he has cut include Dan Rather Reports: Greenscare, the comedy feature The Beast of Bottomless Lake, award-wining feature documentary Eco-Pirate: The Story of Paul Watson, Julia Ivanova's The Price of Heartache, Ayaa: A Hero's Journey, and Knowledge Network's Our First Voices, as well as a Leo-nominated episode of Food Network’s Glutton for Punishment.

Mike also provides colour correction services. Along with colouring the projects he edits, he has most recently worked on the six-episode Vision series Ecstatic, and has coloured most of documentary filmmaker Julia Ivanova's projects, including the award-winning documentary Family Portrait in Black & White.

Steam Powered Films is the production company of director Mike Jackson. It was founded in 1999 with the help of Sam Dulmage, Peter New and Palle Hoffstein, as a home for their creative works. SPF also provides post-production services including editing, colour correction and visual effects.
